SCMHA Registration

Welcome to the SCMHA Family!

Welcome back to those returning players and parents and welcome aboard to those who are
joining us for the first time. Those who choose to be involved with our association in a positive
manner will have a very rewarding year with lots of fun and the feeling of accomplishment and
pride at the end of the year.

Please take time to review our website and meet the volunteers that are going to help make this year a positive one for your child. Without volunteers our association would not exist. Feel free to contact any of the executive members. We intend to keep you as informed as possible. To ensure that you will receive all the current information please provide an email address to us (update your email address when you register on-line, and 'subscribe' to emails using this web-site). This will be our primary means of communication as an association. Our Facebook group is also a great place for updates and information.

Ticket Portion of Registration

A portion of your registration fee includes "Fundraising Tickets; $200 per family".

SCMHA wants to give families an opportunity to reduce the cost of playing hockey.  We encourage families to sell these tickets to friends and family; keep the money collected for tickets, and reduce their registration cost. Tickets will be available the first week of hockey practice, in October. Tickets will only be available once at least $200 has been paid towards registration.

There will be one draw held in December of each year, (more info to follow). There will be three (3) prize lots drawn for. 1st prize = a value of $3,000.00, 2nd prize = a value of $1,000.00 and 3rd prize = a value of $500.00.

You will be able to sell any and all of your tickets purchased to family members or the public for $2/each throughout the fall up until the draw date to recoup any and all of your $200 paid at registration.

If anyone has any fundraising ideas or would like to organize a fundraising event please contact anyone on the board of directors.

SCMHA Fees

Late registration fee (applies after on-line registration closes) $50

Rep Team Fees
Based on a minimum of 14 players per team (rep fees for teams with less than 14 players may have to be adjusted to cover costs). Rep fees cover the cost of full ice for one practice (rec teams have shared ice), as well as the extra referee and ice cost for weekly stop-time games (1.5 hours). If rep teams choose to practice more than once a week, they will have a team ice bill for that expense, also.

Rep Fees due by Jan 15
$240 per player (not including goaltenders)

We support rep teams to fundraise to help cover the cost of rep fees & extra ice costs.

The BAA sponsorship pertains to children living within the boundaries Brookfield Elementary School. These players receive a credit on a portion of their registration. The amount per player, and the players included are decided on by the BAA.

SCMHA Rep Teams

All players interested in trying out for a rep team are encouraged to do so.  SCMHA partners with WCMHA to offer a rep team at every level.

U11 - SCMHA

U13 - WCMHA

U15 - SCMHA

U18 - WCMHA

Watch our web-site & Facebook page for try out sign up.  If your player wishes to try out for a rep team that SCMHA or WCMHA does not offer, they are welcome to attend try outs offered at any other association in the Fundy Region (typically Truro Minor Hockey Association, but Cumberland and Tatamagouche are also options, if they have offerings there).  All players MUST be registered with their home association to attend any try out.

Players trying out for a rep team at the U15 or U18 level must attend a Checking Clinic.  SCMHA typically offers one before try outs begin, and then one near the end of the season.  You can attend a Checking Clinic offered at any association.  Watch our web-site and Facebook page for sign-up details.
